My Community Project

My Community is a partnership between the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, EAST Initiative, Arkansas Department of Education, Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, The Arkansas Arts Council an agency of the Arkansas Department of Heritage, other public and private entities, communities, teachers and students from across Arkansas.

The My Community digital filmmaking program gives you a chance to create a film about a community in Arkansas. You can create the film with a group or you can create it on your own. It can be about people, history, business and commerce, tourist or natural attractions or sporting events in your community. We just want to see your view of the place you live.

The end result will be a two to ten minute documentary that you can share with the world. At the end of the school year you may be invited to an awards ceremony! To enter the competition, please send in the Video Completion form with your film. All the information you will need for your project is on this website. We can’t wait to see your film!
