Activities

We will be in one of the most beautiful scenic parts of Arkansas. Join facilitators and EAST staff after dinner for some fun. Feel free to organize a tennis or frisbee golf tournament, sing karaoke, or participate in one of the many options available to you at Winrock and Petit Jean State Park.

Monday Evening, June 22

EAST Cache Dash – 7:00 PM

Accepting teams until full or June 17th

This race is set up similar to the Amazing Race but will involve geocaching. The concept of this game is simple and fun. The basic idea is to have a team of individuals use GPS units to find "caches." Once found, the cache will provide the team with an item to collect and a clue to the next location. The process continues as they race across the city trying to become the first team to cross the finish line.

Race Details:

  • Teams of 4 or 5 must register in advance to participate (limited to 6 teams)
  • Personal vehicle required that can transport all team members
  • Video documentation of the race is required by the team. Photographs in addition are a plus
  • Make it fun by planning to wear the same color
  • GPS Units will be provided
  • All team members must attend two sessions required to participate (Monday afternoon Session, time TBA and 6:30 PM pre-race meeting)
  • Winners will be awarded EAST Cash to be used twoard EAST labeled gear items
  • To register your team, email Melanie Ridlon the names of your team members (you must have at least 4), your shirt color, and which team member will document the team's progress/experience

Sunset Stroll – 8:00 PM

RSVP by June 17th

Meet Park Interpreter BT at the Richter Overlook on Red Bluff Drive. We will be taking a short stroll to the CCC Overlook where we will watch the sunset from one of the most spectacular locations in Petit Jean State Park. Bring water and a flashlight for the walk back to your car. This easy hike will take about 45 minutes. Hikers must email Melanie Ridlon in advance of their interest to participate.
